For those who find themselves worried about
Harold Camping's (False Prophet) pronouncements of doom, He has done this
before, back in 1994,1995, 2000, etc. He is a man who has rejected sound Bible
teaching, and the folly of his ways are evident. While he claims to be able to
count his way to the rapture, Jesus Himself tells us that "But
of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven,
but my Father only. (Mat 24:36) I added the emphasis to man to serve as a
reminder to all that Harold Camping is a man, flawed and sinful. Why do you let
this man trouble you, "For they prophesy falsely unto you in My name: I have not
sent them, saith the LORD." (Jer 29:9) Deuteronomy Chapter 13 has harsh words
for a false prophet, and Chapter 18 of Deuteronomy says "When a prophet
speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass,
that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it
presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him." (Deu 18:22)
While in the age of grace, we do not stone false
prophets or put them to death, one should very carefully consider how God feels
about those who would prophecy falsely in HIS name. The way to deal with Mr.
Camping is spelled out clearly in the New Testament Scriptures, Namely Romans, "Now
I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary
to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Rom 16:17) When Mr Camping's event
comes to pass and there is no end of the world, what will he say then, that our
calendar is wrong? My friends dismiss him for the false prophet that he is,
trust in Sound Bible teaching in Christian Churches, Trust in the words of our
LORD Jesus Christ, not one who would tell you
to stay out of churches in direct disobedience to the Bible
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
(Heb 10:25). For those of you Christians who meet up
with those troubled by Mr Camping, this is a perfect opportunity to share in
LOVE what the Bible truly teaches, and to get them into a sound church, and
fellowship with the saints. Enough said.
